Crocheted Baby Cuffed Sock Booties

Crochet hook: H (5 mm) hook

Yarn: 1 oz Worst Weight Yarn
Newborn to 6 months old 3-1/2″ long by 2″ wide (standing)
Preemie – Newborn size using sport yarn and a G hook is 2-1/2″ long by 1-1/2″ wide

Rnd 1
Ch 2, work 5 Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Don’t join as the toe section is worked in rounds without joining. Place a stitch marker at the beginning of each round.

Rnd 2
Work 3 Sc in ea st around. (15 sts)

Rnd 3
*2 Sc in first st and then a Sc in each of the next 2 sts*. Repeat between * around. (20 sts)

Rnd 4-8
Sc in ea st around. (20 sts)

Back Ribbing:
Ch 8.

Row 1
Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and work down the chain by working a Sc in each of the 7 ch sts. Then Sc into the base and around in each of the 20 sts around bootie, and in each chain on the opposite side of the beginning chain. Ch 1 and turn. (34 sts)

Row 2-6
Working in BLO (back loops only), Sc in each st down the front cuff portion and around the bootie and then back up to the top of the other side of the front cuff. Ch 1 and turn.

Row 7
Continue to work in BLO, Sc in the next 15 st, work 1 SC Dec over the next two sts, then work 1 SC Dec over the next two sts (2 dec’s worked). Sc in each of the last 15 sts. Ch 1 and turn.

Row 8
Still working in BLO, Sc in the next 14 st, work 1 SC Dec over the next two sts, then work 1 SC Dec over the next two sts (2 dec’s worked). Sc in each of the last 14 sts.

FO sock and leave a long tail to close the end of the heel with a whip stitch on the inside stitches to keep pattern ribbing. Weave under ends.
