  • 9mm hook
  • Red heart Grande in aran
  • Pom maker. Size sm

Sweet Snowball Earflap Hat

The Ch2 in this pattern counts as the 1st hdc in each round

Magic circle

1.)Ch2, 6hdc in circle(7hdc). Join to top of ch2.

2.)Ch2, hdc in same sp, 2 hdc in each sp around (14hdc). Join to top of ch2.

3.)Ch2, hdc in same sp, *hdc in next sp, 2hdc in next sp. repeat from *around. (21hdc). Join to top of ch2

4.)Ch2, hdc in same sp. *hdc in next two sp, 2 hdc in next sp. repeat from * around. (28hdc). Join to top of ch2.

5- 9.)ch2(counts as first hdc). Hdc in each so around. Join to top of ch2

Earflaps:

1.)Starting 4spaces from fasten off. Attach yarn and hdc in same sp and in next 5sp(6hdc).

Ch1 and turn

2.) skip 1st sp, hdc in next 4 sp.

ch1 and turn

3.) skip 1st sp, hdc in next 3

4.) skip 1st sp, hdc in next 2

5.) skip 1st sp, hdc in next sp

6.) skip 1st sp. hdc. Fasten off
2.)Starting 4 spaces in opposite direction of fasten off from already formed earflap, attach yarn and hdc in same sp and in next 5 sp(6hdc)

Ch1 and turn

2.) skip 1st sp, hdc in next 4 sp.

ch1 and turn

3.) skip 1st sp, hdc in next 3 sp

4.) skip 1st sp, hdc in next 2 sp

5.) skip 1st sp, hdc in next sp

6.) skip 1st sp. hdc.

Ch1, dc evenly along earflap and rest of hat including other earflap. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Disclaimer: if you chose to attach braids or ties make sure to NEVER leave your baby unattended with the hat and use only as a prop. Ties/and or braids can cause a choking and strangulation hazard. This was my reasoning behind not attaching any form of strand like fasteners.
