Materials

Small amounts of red, white and green Dk / weight 3 yarn

3mm crochet hook

sc = single crochet (double crochet in UK)

hdc = half double crochet (half treble crochet UK)

dc = double crochet (treble crochet UK)

ch = chain

slst = slip stitch

[ ] = in the same stitch


The strawberry can be made small by fastening off after round 1.

Using red

Round 1: in a magic circle,ch2, 3 dc, 4 hdc, 1 dc, 4 hdc, 3 dc, ch2, slst into the circle, pull tight.

Round 2: sc in ch2 space from last round, [2 hdc and 1 dc] in next stitch, [3 dc] in next st, [2 dc] in next stitch, hdc in next 4 stitches, [hdc, dc, hdc] in next stitch, hdc in next 4 stitches, [2 dc] in next stitch, [3 dc] in next stitch, [1 dc and 2 hdc] in next stitch, sc in ch2 space, slst in slst from the previous round.

Fasten off and join green at the centre top to make the stalk

ch1, yarn over and insert hook into the front post of the second to last stitch on round 2, pull through two loops on hook, yarn over and insert hook into the front post of last stitch on round 1, pull through two loops, yarn over insert hook into front post of first stitch on round 1, pull through two loops, yarn over, insert hook into second stitch on round 2, pull through two loops, then pull through remaining loops, ch4, slst in second chain, slst 2 and fasten off.

Sew in the ends and white dots around the red.
