Materials:
- Size H, 5.00 mm hook
- Tapestry needle
- Medium worsted weight yarn (size 4) in green, black and white
Abbreviations:
st(s)- stitch(es)
ch- chain
hk- hook
sc- single crochet
hdc- half double crochet
dc- double crochet
sl st- slip stitch
BLO- back loop only
Pattern for all headbands:
With main color, ch 13
Row 1: Hdc in the 3rd ch from the hk and each st across, turn (11).
Row 2: Ch 2, hdc in the BLO in each st across, turn (11).
Repeat row 2 until your headband measures the corresponding size:
Fold your headband in half and sl st in the BLO in each st in the other end of the headband in each st across.
Fasten off, weave in end.
Frog eyes (make 2 eyes total):
For baby and toddler sizes:
With black yarn make a magic circle and ch 2.
Dc 8 in the circle and pull to close (8).
Round 2: Switch to white color, 2 dc in each st around, sl st to join (16).
Fasten off, weave in ends.
With green yarn make a magic circle and ch 2.
Dc 8 in the circle and pull to close (8).
Round 2: 2 dc in each st around, sl st to join (16).
Place the black and white circle on top of the green circle.
Sc (with green) the back loop of the white color and the front loop of the green color in each st around.
Sl st to join and fasten off leaving a long tail to sew onto the headband.
Attach eyes to headband weaving in and out.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
All other sizes:
With black yarn make a magic circle and ch 2.
Dc 12 in the circle and pull to close (12).
Round 2: Switch to white color, 2 dc in each st around, sl st to join (24).
Fasten off, weave in ends.
With green yarn make a magic circle and ch 2.
Dc 12 in the circle and pull to close (12).
Round 2: 2 dc in each st around, sl st to join (24).
Place the black and white circle on top of the green circle.
Sc (with green) the back loop of the white color and the front loop of the green color in each st around.
