Front strap: ch 7, sl stitch to the other side of the buckle, making sure it is centered. sl st. sc back across ch (6). Fasten off and sew onto 1 end of strap/ear flap.

Lining of the Hat:

This is an optional step to make your hat warmer and feel softer. It’s important when doing a lining that you ensure your hat is still going to fit the sizing you wanted.

I used a size 6 hook with a bulky white yarn that feels very fuzzy and soft to the touch. I made large loose stitches and stretched out my work.

Rd 1: In red, ch 3, 8 hdc in 2nd ch from hk (8)

Rd 2: 2 hdc in each st around (16)

Rd 3: ( 2hdc, 1 hdc) repeat around (24)

Rd 4: (2hdc, 1 hdc in 2 st) repeat around (32)

Rd 5-10: hdc around (32)

Place your lining inside your hat, ensuring it fits the inside stitches (not the sc edging). Use red yarn to sew into place.

And that’s it!!
