Crochet Slouch Hat

Materials:
- 6.5 mm K crochet hook
- 240 yards of Bulky weight yarn (#5 on the yarn weight scale) (I used 2 skeins of Audine Wools by KnitCrate in the “Lucid” colorway) *Note: if you are changing sizing, yarn amounts will change too.
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Tape measure
Sizing:
- 24 inch circumference
- 12 inches tall
- Hat brim is 2 inches tall
Instructions:
Ch 56, the join in the furthest ch from the hook with a slip stitch.
Round 1: Ch 3, then work a dc in each chain. Join to close round in the topmost chain with a slip stitch.
Rounds 2-4: Ch 3, then work a fpdc in each stitch. Join to close round in the topmost chain with a slip stitch.
Round 5: Ch 3, then skip the next stitch. *In the next stitch work (dc, ch 1, dc), then skip the next stitch. Repeat from * around.
Round 6: Ch 3, *then in the center of each “v” (chain 1 space), work (dc, ch 1, dc). Repeat from * around, then
Repeat round 6 until hat measures about 12 inches tall, then move onto the finishing section below.
Finishing:
Fasten off leaving a long tail (about 24 inches or so is plenty). Turn your hat inside out and with a tapestry needle, thread the tail along the top edge opening with a running stitch all the way around. Pull tail tight and fasten with a secure knot.
