HAT

Rnd 1 (blck): chain 4 stitches. 11 dc in the 4th chain, sl st.

Rnd 2: ch3, dc in the same st as ch, 2 dc in each of next 11 st, sl st to top of ch 3 (24 stitches).

Rnd 3: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, dc in next st*, repeat from*to* 11 times, sl st to top of ch 3 (36 stitches).

Rnd 4: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 2 st*, repeat from*to* 11 times, sl st to top of ch 3 (48 stitches).

Rnd 5: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 3 st*, repeat from*to* 11 times, sl st to top of ch 3 (60 stitches).

Rnd 6 in white: ch 3, dc in each of next 60 st, sl st to top of ch 3.

Rnd 7 in black: ch 3, dc in the same st as ch, dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 4 st*, repeat from*to* 11 times, sl st to top of ch 3 (72 stitches).

Rnd 8-14 (alternating white and black): dc in each of next 72 sts.

Rnd 15 (black): ch 1, sc in the same st as ch, skip 2 sts, 7 dc shell in next st, skip next 2 sts, sc in next st*, repeat from*to* till the end of Rnd.

Fasten off, weave in ends.

EARS (2x)

Rnd 1: chain 4 stitches. 6 dc in the 4th chain, sl st.

Rnd 2: 2 dc in each of next 6 sts.

Rnd 3: ch3, 2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 4 sts, 2 dc in each of next 2 sts, dc in each of next 4sts, dc in next st.
