Crochet Plush Basket

Materials:
- 9.0 mm crochet hook
- 1 ball Sweet Home by Red Heart (Note: I used less than one ball per basket) The pink basket is the colorway “Calypso” and the blue basket is the “Moody Blues” colorway
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
- Tape Measure
Sizing:
- 7.5 inches tall
- 24 inch circumference
- Circular base is 7.5 inches wide
Instructions:
Ch 4, join in the furthest ch from the hook to make a ring.
Round 1: Ch 2, then work 11 hdc into the center of the ring. Join to close round with a sl st.
Round 2: Ch 2, then work 2 hdc into each st around. Join to close round with a sl st.
Round 3: Ch 2, then work a hdc into the first st. *Work 2 hdc into the next st, then a hdc into the next st. Repeat from * around. Join to close round with a sl st.
Round 4: Ch 2, then work a hdc into the first st. *Work a hdc into the next st, a hdc into the next st, then two hdc into the next st. Repeat from * around. Join to close round with a sl st.
Round 5: Ch 2, the work a bphdc (back post half double crochet) in each st around. Join to close round with a sl st.
Rounds 6-12: Ch 2, the work a hdc in each st around. Join to close round with a sl st.
Round 13: Ch 2, then work a hdc into each of the first 8 sts. Ch 6, then skip 6 sts. In the next st, work a hdc. Work a hdc in each of the next 16 sts, then ch 6 and skip 6 sts. Work a hdc in each st for the remainder of the round. Join to close round with a sl st.
*Note: If you need to reposition your handles, simply add or subtract the number of stitches in between the handles. If you need to make your handles larger or smaller, make your chain longer for a bigger handle and smaller for a smaller handle. Skip the same number of stitches as your chain (so if you did a ch 12, you would also skip 12 sts.
Round 14: Ch 2, then work a hdc in each stitch until you get to the ch 6 space from the previous round. Work 10 hdc in the ch 6 space. Work a hdc in each of the next stitches until you get to the next ch 6 space. Work 10 hdc in the ch 6 space. Finish the round by working a hdc in each of the remaining stitches, then join to close the round with a sl st.
Round 15: Ch 1, then work a sc in each stitch around. Join to close the round with a sl st.
Weave in any ends that remain and you’re finished!
