Size: The doily measures approx. 28 cm (11 inches) in diameter.

Materials Used:

  • Sport weight yarn, size 2 — fine. I used Nako Fiore 25% linen, 35% cotton, 40% bamboo viscose yarn. 8grams (24 metres approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st. — stitch
ch — chain
sl st. — slip stitch
sc — single crochet
hdc — half double crochet
dc — double crochet
dc2(3)tog — 2 or 3 double crochet closed together
()* — repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.


Instructions:

Start with ch5. Join with a sl st. into first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: ch2 (counts as a hdc), 11hdc into the ring.

Join with a sl st. on top of the ch2.

Round 2: ch2 (counts as a hdc), 1hdc into same st.,

2hdc into each st. around.

Join with a sl st. on top of the ch2.

Round 3: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch2, 1dc into same st.,

(skip next st., (1dc, ch2, 1dc) into next st.)* repeat 11 times around.

Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch.

Round 4: sl st. into next ch2 space, ch3 (counts as 1dc of dc3tog), dc2tog into same ch2 space, ch3, dc3tog into same ch2 space, ch1,

((dc3tog, ch3, dc3tog) into next ch2 space, ch1)* repeat 11 times around.

Join with a sl st. on top of the dc2tog.

Round 5: sl st. into next ch3 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 5dc into same ch3 space, 2sc into next ch1 space,

(6dc into next ch3 space, 2sc into next ch1 space)* repeat 11 times around.

Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.

Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.
