Materials Needed

For each tiny flower that you’d like to crochet, you will need:

  • DK yarn- each ruffle flowers 4 yards for color 1(for the petals) and less than a yard of color 2(for the center).
  • An E/3.5mm hook
  • Scissors
  • A tapestry needle(this is optional, but good for weaving in ends.

Abbreviations Used

  • CH – chain (yarn over, pull loop through)
  • REP-repeat
  • HDC – half double crochet(yarn over, insert hook, yarn over, draw up a loop, yarn over, and draw through three loops)
  • SS-slip stitch(insert hook, yarn over, draw up a loop through the work and through the loop on your hook)
  • ST/STS – stitch/stitches

Directions

In color 1

Make a magic circle.

Round 1: Into your magic circle, ch2(counts as a stitch), sc4. Ss in to the top of the first ch2 to close the round (5 sts).

Round 2: ch3(counts as a stitch). Into the top of your ch2 from round one, dc5. Continue to dc6 in every remaining stitch, for a total of 36sts. Ss in the top of your ch3 to finish the round. Bind off.

Switch to Color 2

Create a magic circle, leaving a generous tail. Ch2, and then sc4 into the magic circle. Ss in to the top of your ch2 to close the round. Bind off, leaving another generous tail at the end.

Using the ends from your small circle, place it into the center of the flower, and tie the ends securely on the other side.

The finished ruffle flower looks lovely as part of a set!
