Instructions:

Sweater sizes: 34/36 (38/40)

You will need:

  • 450 (500) g of pink Algarve yarn (100% cotton, 142 m/50 g).
  • Crochet hook No. 3.5.

Main pattern: single crochet (sc). Start each row with 1 additional chain stitch for rising and finish with 1 sc in the first sc of the previous row.

Lacy pattern: the initial number of stitches is a multiple of 5 + 1. Follow chart 1. Start with stitches before the repeat, repeat the pattern stitches, finish with stitches after the repeat. Work once from the 1st to the 5th row, then repeat from the 2nd to the 5th row. Dots under the chart indicate the stitches of the last row of the main pattern.

Mesh pattern: the number of stitches is a multiple of 5 + 1. Follow chart 2. Start with stitches before the repeat, repeat the pattern stitches, finish with stitches after the repeat. Work once from the 1st to the 3rd row, then repeat the 2nd and 3rd row.

When alternating patterns for the sleeve, the mesh pattern is worked directly on the stitches of the main pattern. Dots under the chart indicate sc of the main pattern. When transitioning from the mesh pattern to the main pattern, ensure the number of sc in the main pattern matches the number of stitches in the last row of the mesh pattern.

Pattern sequence: 9 rows in the main pattern, *7 rows in the mesh pattern, 9 rows in the main pattern, repeat from * 3 more times, 12 rows in the mesh pattern = 85 rows.

Gauge:

Lacy pattern: 21 foundation stitches and 11 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Mesh pattern: 21 foundation stitches and 11 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Main pattern: 21 stitches and 25.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Note! It's recommended to make a life-size pattern and monitor increases and decreases by comparing the work to the pattern.

Knitting the sweater:

Back: Chain 91 (101) + 1 turning chain and work 3.5 cm in the main pattern for the hem. Then continue with the lacy pattern. At 31 cm = 34 rows from the hem, leave 2 cm on both sides for the armholes and decrease for the raglan slopes, leaving unworked *1 x 1.5 cm and 1 x 1 cm, repeat from * 3 more times. At 49 cm = 54 rows from the hem, finish the work on the remaining stitches.

Front: Start as the back, but at 36.5 cm = 40 rows from the hem, over the first and last 10.5 (13) cm of the lacy pattern, work in the mesh pattern, no longer making decreases for the raglan. In this section, transition between patterns according to rows 5-9 of chart 1, then repeat the 8th and 9th rows of the chart. After 11 cm = 12 rows of the mesh pattern, finish the work.

Sleeves: Chain 46 (56) + 1 turning chain and work 3.5 cm = 9 rows in the main pattern for the cuff. Then continue with the pattern sequence. For sleeve shaping, increase on both sides in the 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th rows of the 2nd — 4th band of the main pattern from the cast-on edge by 1 sc each time. After completing the 4th band of the main pattern = 29.5 cm from the cast-on edge, you will have 70 (80) sc in the work.

At 37 cm from the cast-on edge after completing the 4th band of the mesh pattern, for the raglan slopes, leave unworked on both sides one repeat and in every following row decrease twice by 0.5 repeat (1 repeat of the mesh pattern corresponds to 5 initial sts of the mesh pattern or 5 sc of the main pattern). In the 3rd and 7th rows of the next band of the main pattern, leave unworked 1 st on both sides = 46 (56) sts. Then alternately in every 2nd and 3rd row of the mesh pattern, leave unworked 0.5 repeat on both sides. After 54.5 cm = 85 rows from the cast-on edge, finish the work.

Assembly: Set in the sleeves; to do this, perform the raglan seams on the right side using sc, adjusting them as necessary to fit or stretch. Slightly stretch the upper parts of the front made with the mesh pattern. Sew the side seams and the sleeve seams.

To form a triangular front neckline, join the inner edges of the parts made with the mesh pattern together, crocheting 2 rows of sc (start from the left edge of the neckline and in the 2nd row at the peak of the neckline work 3 sc together). Before working the neckline trim, first even out the neckline line. For this, work 1 sc into each chain space of the mesh pattern and connect to the next chain space with 2 chain stitches. Then crochet 4 more rows of sc.
