GAUGE — 8hdc and 6 rows of hdc measures approx 2 Inches square


With main color yarn & 5.00mm hook ch68, change to 4.50mm hook, (WS) 1hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1hdc in each ch to end. Turn. (66hdc + ch2)

Next Row — ch2, 1hdc in each hdc to end. Turn. Rpt last row until 59 rows have been

worked in all or work measures approx 18.5 inches from beginning. Turn. (66hdc + ch2)

Pattern Row 1 — Working on RS and with contrast color yarn, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1,

* skip 1hdc 5dc group (see abbrev above) in next hdc, skip 1hdc, 1sc in next hdc, * rpt

from * to * to end. Turn.

Pattern Row 2 — ch3, 2dc in base of ch3, * skip 2dc, 1sc in centre dc on 5dc group, skip 2dc, 5dc group in next sc, * rpt from * to * to end, work 3dc in last sc. Turn. Fasten off.

Chair Back Edging — Using main color yarn, 4.50mm hook and starting with WS facing on

a long side of cover, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, working in row ends down side of chair back,

work 107sc evenly along to corner, 3sc in corner, 1sc in each ch along cast on edge, 3sc in corner, 107sc evenly along and in row ends up second side of chair back. DNT.

Next Row — Work one row of crab stitch (see abbrev above) around all three sides of chair back. Fasten off

Finishing — Sew in and tie off any loose ends. Fasten off.
