Row 1: Ch 40, hdc in 3rd ch from the hook. Hdc in each st across and then turn.
Row 2: Ch 2, hdc in each st across. Turn.
Rows 3-18: Repeat Row 2.
Leave about a 15 inch tail to sew the side up. Then sew the other side up. Weave in ends and fold down top. I then started at a corner and sc around the flap and top of the clutch. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Ch 5 and attach it to the middle for the button loop. Fasten off and weave in ends. Sew on button.
