Crochet Glorp the Alien

Crochet Glorp the Alien is a whimsical and fun project that will surely bring a smile to both children and adults alike. With its bright colors and quirky design, Glorp comes to life in your hands as you lovingly craft each stitch. Whether you're a beginner or experienced crocheter, this adorable alien is a joy to create. Imagine the delight on someone's face when they receive a handmade Glorp as a gift — it's a unique and thoughtful present that exudes charm and creativity. So grab your crochet hook and some colorful yarn, and let's bring Crochet Glorp the Alien to life together!

Materials

  • Size 4 chenille yarn in color of your choice (I used a yarn I found at a thrift store, use any yarn you want, adjust hook accordingly )
  • Materials to embroider mouth — I used a small amt of embroidery thread
  • Fibers for felting eyes or embroider
  • Fiberfill
  • F hook (or hook you need!)
  • Scissors
  • Needle (to weave in ends/create features)
  • Small amt of cardboard to insert into base of feet
  • Pipe cleaners — I folded 3 in half and gently braided for stiffness in neck

Abbreviations

  • Ch: chain
  • Sl st: slip stitch
  • Sc: single crochet
  • Sc2tog: single crochet 2 sts together; decrease
  • Hdc: half double crochet
  • Camel st- crochet in the loop behind blo (Moogly has a great tutorial!)
  • F.o.: finish off

All terms American. If pattern reads «sc, sc2tog, 2sc» it would be read as, " single crochet, single crochet 2 stitches together, 2 single crochet in the next stitch", directions are to be repeated to end of row/round unless otherwise noted. As with any pattern, be sure to read through once before beginning, and don't forget to mark your rounds! (I use a bit of contrasting yarn)
