Materials:
- YARN:
- #5 Bulky Weight, We Crochet Brava Bulky; 100% Premium Acrylic or suitable substitute, 90 (100, 110, 120) yards
- TOOLS:
- US Size (K/10.5) 6.5 mm crochet hook or hook size that meets gauge, Yarn Needle, Scissors
Sizes:
- Small (Medium, Large, Extra Large)
Width (flat):
- 3 (3.75, 4.5, 5.25)” / 7.5 (9.5, 11.5, 13.25) cm
Gauge:
- 8 sts x 10 rounds of body st pattern (crunch st) = 3”/7.5 cm
Stitches/Abbreviations: US Terms
- ch – chain
- sts – stitches
- blo – back loop only
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- RS/WS – Right/Wrong side of work
Notes:
- Beginning ch sts do not count as a st.
- The cuff of the gloves is worked in standard rounds and the body of the gloves is worked in TURNED rounds.
- This pattern is worked in a multiple of 2.
- The gloves also include 3 thumb holes. This allows the person wearing them to decide how much fabric they want around the fingers, making them slightly adjustable.
- JOIN each round with a slip stitch to the first st in that round.
- For extra warmth, slip these on over top of a thin pair of gloves
Instructions – Cozytime Fingerless Gloves:
CUFF – S (M, L, XL)
Ch 18 (20, 22, 24), join to first ch.
Round 1 (RS): Ch 1, sc in each ch around, join. 18 (20, 22, 24) sts
Rounds 2-4: Ch 1, sc in the blo in each st around, join.
BODY
Rounds 5-14: Ch 1, TURN, (make sure not to work in the join sl st from here on), hdc in first, sl st in next, *hdc in next, sl st in next; repeat from * around, join.
LEFT GLOVE
Small and Medium
Round 15: Ch 1, TURN, hdc in first, sl st in next, ch 3 (not too tightly), skip 3, sl st in next, *hdc in next, sl st in next; repeat from * around, join.
Large and Extra Large
Round 15: Ch 1, TURN, hdc in first, sl st in next, hdc in next, ch 3 (not too tightly), skip 3, *hdc in next, sl st in next; repeat from * around, join.
ALL SIZES
Round 16: Ch 1, TURN, hdc in first, sl st in next, *hdc in next, sl st in next; repeat from * around including in the individual ch sts of the thumb hole, join.
Rounds 17-20: Repeat Rounds 15-16 of indicated size, 2 more times. This will give the glove 3 thumb holes.
Rounds 21-24: Repeat Round 5 of Body.
Round 25: Ch 1, do not turn, sl st in blo in each st around, join.
Fasten off, weave in ends to the WS of the project. Make Right Glove.
For Right Glove, repeat Cuff instructions and Rows 5-14 of Body instructions.
RIGHT GLOVE
Small and Medium
Round 15: Ch 1, TURN, hdc in first, sl st in next, hdc in next, sl st in next; repeat from * around until 6 sts remain, ch 3 (not too tightly), skip 3, sl st in next, hdc in next, sl st in last, join.
Large and Extra Large
Round 15: Ch 1, TURN, hdc in first, *sl st in next, hdc in next; repeat from * around until 5 sts remain, ch 3 (not too tightly), skip 3, hdc in next, sl st in last, join.
ALL SIZES
Round 16: Ch 1, TURN, hdc in first, sl st in next, *hdc in next, sl st in next; repeat from * around including in the individual ch sts of the thumb hole, join.
Rounds 17-20: Repeat Rounds 15-16 of indicated size, 2 more times. This will give the glove 3 thumb holes.
