Crochet Baby Shoes

The pattern is the same for both left and right shoes. At the end of each round, the number in parentheses tells how many stitches there should be total. Round 1 begins the sole of the shoe. I used an E hook, but you can choose whichever size you prefer to make the shoe bigger or smaller.
Pattern (Shoe):Round 1: ch 14, 2 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 10 hdc, 4 hdc in last ch (these last 4 sts will turn your work, so you can continue working down the opposite side of your foundation chain). 10 hdc, 2 hdc in last ch that already has 2 hdc in it. Join with sl st to the top of the chains you skipped at beginning of the round (28).
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each of the next two stitches, 4 sc, 6 hdc, 2 hdc in each of the next 4 stitches, 6 hdc, 4 sc, 2 sc in each of the next two stitches. Join with sl st (36).
Round 3: Ch 1, 2 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, 9 sc, 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next stitch, 2 sc in each of the next 6 stitches, 2 hdc in next stitch, 3 hdc, 9sc, 2 sc in next stitch. Join with sl st (46).
Round 4: Sl st all the way around sole through back loops only. Join with sl st (46).
In the next round you will be working back over what you just did. You will need to work through both the slip stitches and the back loops that you just worked. This makes for a thick round and gives body to the bottom of the shoe.
Round 5: Ch 2, 5 hdc, 10 sc, 2 hdc, 12 dc, 2 hdc, 10 sc, 5 hdc, Join with sl st (46).
Round 6: Ch1, 11 sc, 24 hdc, 11 sc. Join with slip stitch (46).
Round 7: Ch 2, skip first stitch, 5 hdc, 7 sc, [ 2 hdc, skip next stitch] 7 times, 1 hdc, 7 sc, 4 hdc, 1 hdc in joining stitch of previous round. Join with slip stitch (39).
Round 8: Ch 1, skip first stitch,1 sc, sc2tog, 10 sc, skip next stitch, [1 hdc, skip next stitch] 6 times, 10 sc, sc2tog, 1 sc in joining stitch of previous round. Join with slip stitch (30).
Round 9: Slip stitch all the way around. Fasten off.
Bow:
Row 1: Ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each st across (7 sc). Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: sc in first st, *sc dec in next st, sc in next st** rep from * (5 sc). Ch 1, turn.
Row 3: sc in first st, sc dec in next st, 2 sc (4 sc). Ch 1, turn.
Row 4: sc in first st, sc dec in next st, sc in last st (3 sc). Ch 1, turn.
Row 5: sc in each st across (3 sc). Ch 1, turn.
Row 6: sc in first st, 2 sc in next st, sc in last st (4 sc). Ch 1, turn.
Row 7: sc in first st, 2 sc in next st, 2 sc (5 sc). Ch 1, turn.
Row 8: sc in first st, *2 sc in next st, sc** rep from * (7 sc). Ch 1, turn.
Edging Round: *3 sc in first st, 5 sc, 3 sc in last st (this will turn your bow so you can work along the ends of the rows). 1 sc in the end of each row** rep from * across. Join with sl st to first sc from beginning of round. Fasten off leaving a 10 inch tail. Wrap tail around center of bow several times as shown (see pictures), and sew to top of shoe.
Tuck in any loose ends and you’re finished!
