– Red Heart Super Saver Yarn in color Oatmeal.

– A bit of black and white yarn for the embellishments.
– Size H Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle

Seal Head/Body:
with oatmeal color yarn
Magic ring, chain 1 and make 12 DC in ring, join, chain 2
Round 2: 2 DC in each stitch around, join, chain 2 (24 DC)
Round 3: 2 DC in first, DC in next, repeat around, join, chain 2 (36 DC)
Round 4: 2 DC in first, DC in next 2, repeat around, join, chain 2 (48 DC)
Row 5: DC in first, HDC in next, SC in next 10, HDC, DC, leave remaining stitches unworked, chain 2, turn
Row 6: DC in each stitch across, chain 2, turn (14 DC)
Row 7: DC in first 13, 2 DC in last, chain 2, turn (15 DC)
Row 8: 2 DC in first, DC in last 14, chain 2, turn (16 DC)
Row 9: DC decrease over first 2, DC in next 13, 2 DC in last, chain 2, turn (16 DC)
Row 10: 2 DC in first, DC in next 13, DC Decrease over last two, chain 2, turn (16 DC)
Row 11: DC Decrease over first two, DC in next 13, 2 DC in last, do not fasten off. Now let’s make the tail fins: Chain 8, SC in 3rd chain from hook, HDC in next 2, DC in last 3, join to last stitch, chain 8, SC in 3rd chain from hook, HDC in next 2, DC in last 3, join to last stitch,
Continue to SC around the entire seal including the tail fins (making two SC in the top of each fin), join to first SC.
Fasten off leaving long tail.

Snout:
with oatmeal color yarn
Magic Ring, chain 2 and make 5 DC + SC + 5 more DC, pull tight and join to first SC, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around making a slip stitch where the SC is from previous round, fasten off leaving long tail.

With tapestry needle and strand of black yarn, stitch on a nose in the center by looping yarn around about 4 times, then stitch on a smiling mouth.

Arm Fins (make 2):
with oatmeal color yarnChain 8, SC in 3rd chain from hook, HDC in next 2, DC in last 3, chain 1, turn
Row 2: SC in each stitch making 2 SC at top of arm fin, fasten off leaving long tail.

Eye:
with black yarn
Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 6 SC in ring, join to first SC, fasten off.

With a strand of white yarn or thread, stitch on eye and a little “twinkle” above the eye.
