When I work into the foundation chain, I prefer working into the back bar (back bump) of the chain. You can work under the back loop only if you prefer.
Initial ch 1, ch 2 and ch 3 do not count as stitches and we do not work into them.
Work the first st of each round into the same stitch that has the slip stitch join and initial chs.
You may substitute your favorite method for starting in rounds for the DMR (double magic ring) if you prefer.
Sl st to join is made in the first st of the round (skipping over any starting chain).
You can make your slip stitches tightly as we will not be working into them.
If you’d like to increase the hat height, work more repeat rounds. Be sure to work the final round (the sc round) with the RS (right side) of the hat facing outwards. This means if you change the number of repeat rounds you may need to turn before working the last round.
