PATTERN

Note: This sandal is worked in the round, from bottom to top. The heel of the sandal is worked in the row, from bottom to top.

SOLE

Ch11 [13] using yarn and 3.5mm hook.

Rnd 1: 2 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in next 8 [10] sts, 5 hdc in next st. (Note: You are now going to be working on the opposite side of foundation chain.) 1 hdc in next 8 [10] sts. 3 hdc in last st. (26 [30] sts) Do not sl st in 1st hdc of this rnd.

Rnd 2: Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. 2 hdc in next 2 sts. 1 hdc in next 8 [10] sts. 2 hdc in next 5 sts. 1 hdc in next 8 [10] sts. 2 hdc in next 3 sts. (36 [40] sts) Do not sl st in 1st hdc of this rnd.

Rnd 3: Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. *2 hdc in next st. 1 hdc in next st. Repeat from the * twice. 1 hdc in next 8 [10] sts. *2 hdc in next st. 1 hdc in next st. Repeat from the * 5 times. 1 hdc in next 8 [10] sts. *2 hdc in next st. 1 hdc in next st. Repeat from the * 3 times. Sl st in 1st st of this rnd. (46 [50] sts)
Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

Repeat “Sole” pattern 4 times, (crocheting 2 soles in “Larkin” and 2 soles in “Honeysuckle”) put together (wrong sides inside) both soles.

Join both soles by working sl st around (work in all four loops, back and front), 46 [50] sl sts.

HEEL

For the left sandal, crochet the 1st row from the outside of your work, and for the right sandal crochet the 1st row from the inside of your work.

Row 1: Ch1 using “Honeysuckle” yarn, 1 sc in next 19 [21] sts across the back of sole. Turn your work. (19 [21] sts)

Row 2 – 5 [6]: Ch1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next 19 [21] sts. Turn your work.

Row 6 [7]: Ch1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next 19 [21] sts. Ch16 [19]. Turn your work.

Row 7 [8]: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in next 33 [38] sts. (34 [39] sts)

Row 8 [9]: Ch1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next 31 [36] sts. Ch2, skip 2 sts (creates button hole). 1 sc in next st. Turn your work.

Row 9 [10]: Ch1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next 33 [38] sts. Turn your work.

Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

STRAP

Row 1: Start crocheting on the left side of the sandal, 3 sts away from end of “row 1” from “Heel” section of sandal. Ch1, 1 sc in same st. 1 sc in next 4 sts. Turn your work. (5 sts)

Row 2: Ch5 (First 2 ch counts as a dc), skip 3 sts, 1 dc in next st.

Row 3: Ch1, 1 sc in same st, 3 sc in ‘ch3’ space made in previous row, 1 sc in next st.

Row 4 – 11: Repeat rows 2 – 3.

Place left strap across “Sole” 3 sts away from end of “row 1” on the right side of the sandal, sew strap in place.
Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.
