MATERIALS:

Red Heart 4 ply Worsted Weight Yarn
Hook Size G
1" Button
Yarn Needle
Dish Towel

Stitches: Ch, Dc, DcDec2tog, Sc, Sl St.

Difficulty: MEDIUM

HANDLE

R1: Ch8, sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in ea rem ch. (7sc)

Rs2-34: Ch1, turn. Sc in each st. (7sc) Do Not Fasten Off.

TOPPER

Begin working in rounds.

R1: Ch1, sc in bl of each sc. Ch3.
Working up the other side, sc in unworked loop of ea sc. Ch3, join with a sl st in the first sc.

(Towel Loop) Ch1, turn. Sc in ch3 sp. (ch1, turn, sc in sc just made) 10 times. Join to Ch3 on the opposite side by working a sc through the ch3 sp and the last sc made (be careful not to twist). This forms the loop to hang the towel through.

R2: 2dc in ea sc along both sides of R1, skipping the end chain spaces. Join with a sl st. (28dc)

R3: Ch3, do not turn. 2dc in ea dc. Join with a sl st.

R4: Ch3, do not turn. Dc in ea dc. Join with a sl st.

R5: Ch3, do not turn. Dc in next 4 dc. DcDec2tog. (Dc in next 5 sts, DcDec2tog) around. Join with sl st.

R6: Ch1, do not turn. (sc in 4sts. ScDec2tog) around. Join with sl st.

R7: Ch1, do not turn. Sc in next st. (Ch3, sc in next st) around.

Fasten Off.

FLAP

R1: Reattach yarn to unworked loop of first sc on R1 of Handle.
Sc in 1st 3 sts. Ch2, sk 1 st. Sc in ea of last 3 sts.
Note: when you make the ch2 and skip 1 stitch that forms the button hole.

R2: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st and in the ch2 sp.

R3: Ch1, turn. Sc in first st, Dc in next st. 4dc in ch2 sp on R1 (dip down into the chain sp) Dc in next to last st. Sc in last st.

Fasten Off.

FINISHING

Sew a 1" button in the center of Row 32 of Handle. Fold Flap down and fasten. Fold a dish towel length ways and insert it through the Hanging Loop then arrange it as in the photo.
