What You Will Need

Yarn

  • #3 Light (light worsted, DK, or 8py) acrylic glitter yarn with 14 WPI (wraps per inch)
  • Color A (bell) gold — about 10.66 yards ( 9.75 meters)
  • Color B (bow) red — about 2.46 yards (2.25meters)

Hook

  • 2.5mm hook for bell and bow

Notions

  • Scissors
  • Yarn Needle
  • 8-inch (20 cm) piece 1 mm gold cord (or similar) for hanger
  • 1 x small gold bead with a hole big enough to thread the cord through.
  • Hot glue gun

Gauge

  • The gauge is not so important for the project just as long as the stitches are tight and close together.

Finished Size

  • These Christmas bells are about 1 ¼ inches (3.2 cm) tall (this does not include the hanger), and 1.8 inches (4.5cm) wide at the base, when made using the yarn weight and hook sizes mentioned above.

  • Rnd 1, col A- 5sc in magic ring ring, sl st 1st sc. [5sc]

  • Rnd 2 — Ch1 (not counted as a st), 2sc in each st, sl st 1st sc to join. [10sc]
  • Rnd 3 — Ch1 (not counted as a st), 2sc in each st, sl st in 1st sc to join. [20sc]
  • Rnds 4-10 — Ch1 (not counted as st), 1sc in each st, sl st in 1st sc to join. [20sc]
  • Rnd 11 — Ch1 (not counted as a st),* 1sc in next st, 2sc in next, rpt from * 10 times, sl st in 1st sc to join. [30sc]

Bow

  • Row 1, col B — Ch50, sl st in 2nd ch from hk, sl st in each st to end, chain 1, cut yarn, fasten off and weave in ends. Tie the crochet piece into a bow.

  • Finish the bow Complete the bow shape by folding the crochet piece to look like a bow. Use yarn in the same color to wrap around the middle to make the knot.Tie the yarn securely at the back by knotting the ends together.

Assembling The Bell

  • Turn the bell inside out — Thread the hanging cord onto a needle and draw it through the top (through the magic ring), leaving two short-end pieces on the top.- Use a small amount of hot glue to secure the ends to the inside of the bell.Turn the bell right side out — Thread a small bead onto the hanging loop and secure it to the top of the bell will a small amount of glue.- Next, glue the ribbon to the top of the bell.
