Bottom ribbing:
Row 1: Ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in each st across Back Loops Only (BLO). Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: BLO- sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3-43: Repeat Row 2.
Back: Turn (do not fasten off)
Row 1: Ch 3, dc evenly across the ribbing. Ch 3, turn. (45dc)
Row 2: Dc in each st across (Both Loops now and throughout the back). Ch 3, turn.
Rows 3-28: Repeat Row 2. Fasten off.
Side (make 2)
Bottom ribbing:
Row 1: Ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in each st across Back Loops Only (BLO). Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: BLO- sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3-23: Repeat Row 2.
Side: Turn (do not fasten off)
Row 1: Ch 3, dc evenly across the ribbing. Ch 3, turn. (25dc)
Row 2: Dc in each st across (Both Loops now and throughout the side). Ch 3, turn.
Rows 3-22: Repeat Row 2.
Row 23: Sl st over 3 sts, ch 3, dec dc 1 st, then dc across. Ch 3, turn.
Row 24: Dc across leaving the last 2 dc unworked. Dec dc over those last 2 dc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 25: Dec dc over 1 st, dc across. Ch 3, turn.
Row 26: Dc across leaving the last 2 dc unworked. Dec dc over those last 2 dc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 27: Dec dc over 1 st, dc across. Ch 3, turn.
Row 28: Dc across leaving the last 2 dc unworked. Dec dc over those last 2 dc. Ch 3, turn. Fasten off.
After all pieces are made, sew top seams of sides to the back. Then sew side seams, leaving approx. 6" for arm hole. I would recommend trying it on the person it's meant for to make sure the arm holes are right. Sc around the armholes and the neckline. Fasten off and weave in ends. Sew in zipper. I used a 16-inch medium weight coat zipper and hand sewed it on.
