Joining:

  1. Place pieces right side facing together, join yarn with a sc through both pieces to start the round.
  2. Round 7: Sc around, matching stitches, for 20 sc. Then, skip the next unworked stitches on the first half and continue sc around the second half, for a total of 42 stitches.
  3. Round 8-9: Sc in each stitch around. (42 stitches)

Shaping the Top of the Heart:

  1. From Round 10, start decreasing at specific points to shape the upper parts of the heart, following the decrease pattern mentioned in the tutorial, and continue through Round 17.
  2. For Rounds 18-19, continue with decreases at specific intervals to finalize the heart shape.

Legs (Make 2):

  1. Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 stitches)
  2. Round 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12 stitches)
  3. Rounds 3-4: Sc in each stitch around. (12 stitches per round)
  4. Round 5: 1 sc, dec repeat 4 times. (8 stitches)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

  1. Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 stitches)
  2. Round 2: 1 sc, inc repeat around. (9 stitches)
  3. Rounds 3-4: Sc in each stitch around. (9 stitches per round)

Finishing:

  • Sew the arms and legs to the heart body.
  • Embroider the face details using fine thread.
  • Attach the half pearls or alternative eyes with silicone glue.
  • Attach the keychain ring to the top of the heart.

Notes:

  • The gauge is not critical for this project, but make sure your stitches are tight enough that the filling does not show through.
