Notes:

Multiple of 2

When I work into the foundation chain, I prefer working into the back bar (back bump) of the chain. You can work under the back loop only if you prefer.

Initial ch 2 counts as 1 hdc. This means we do not work into the stitch at the base of the ch 2 because the ch 2 is counting as the first st worked.

Initial ch 1 does not count as a stitch.

To make this scarf wider, chain more stitches using a multiple of 2.

To make this scarf longer, work more rows following the repeat set out in the pattern.

Everblooms Scarf Pattern

Worked widthwise in rows.

Using your 5.5 mm (I) crochet hook (or size required for gauge):

R1: Ch 28, sk the first ch, 1 sc in each rem ch across. Turn. [27 sc]

R2: Ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc – see notes), sk 1 st, 2 hdc in the next st. *Sk 1 st, 2 hdc in the next st**. Work from * to ** across to the last 2 sts. Sk the next st, 1 hdc in the last st. Turn. [12 sets of 2 hdc and 2 hdc]

We will be working in the space between the 2 hdc that make up each set.

R3-R122: Ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc). *Sk all sts not mentioned. Make 2 hdc in the sp between the next 2 hdc**. Work from * to ** across to the last st. 1 hdc in the last st. Turn. [12 sets of 2 hdc and 2 hdc]
