THE INGREDIENTS

  • 4 Skeins of fabric yarn [you can create your own using this video]
  • I utilized «Freedom Yarn» 75 yards each /5.3oz/ 100% Cotton /
  • 1 yard of fabric
  • set of purse handles
  • 9.00 MM Crochet Hook
  • Yarn Needle
  • Craft Scissors
  • Fabric Glue
  • Needle and Thread

THE PATTERN

*You will repeat this Step TWICE. Creating both the FRONT as well as the Back piece to construct the bag.

STEP ONE

Chain FOR 26 STS/ 16 INCHES LENGTH

R1: SC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue.

R2: HDC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue.

R3: SC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue.

R4: HDC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue.

R5: SC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue.

R6: HDC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue.

R7: SC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue.

R8: HDC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue.

R9: SC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue.

R10: HDC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue.

REPEAT TWICE FRONT AND BACK.

STEP TWO

Creating the Bottom piece and Side Piece of the Bag. It will be one long strip that will be sewn from one side, to the bottom, reaching the other side.

CH for 4 STS

[19 sts for the SIDES and 26 STS for the bottom for a total of 64 rows]

R1: SC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue.

R2: HDC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue.

R3-R64: HDC into all of the STS for the entire row, at the end of the row, turn work utilizing turning chain to continue. After final row [64] SL ST to complete and fasten off work.

STEP THREE

Utilizing your yarn sewing needle and the fabric yarn, you will sew STEP TWO to STEP ONE. Aligning the long strip around what will be the bottom of the bag. [ SEW 19 sts for the SIDES and 26 STS for the bottom for a total of 64 rows]

STEP FOUR

Cutting and measuring out the fabric, 42 inches circumference and the bottom piece is 19 inches length. Turn the bag inside out. Leave the top row of the bag free to construct the handles! Align the fabric with the crocheted and sew needle and thread to secure [or you may use fabric glue to secure fabric surrounding the bag.]

STEP FIVE

Adding the purse handles, this STEP will be repeated TWICE for the BACK AND FRONT of the bag. With your hook and fabric yarn, insert your hook into the top row, into the 8th ST, SC, CH 1, now you will take your hook out and place the purse strap hoop through and into the following ST, SL ST to secure it. Fasten work and skip 6 STS to repeat this step, implementing the other side of the purse handle securing it in place.
