MATERIALS:

Bernat Baby Blanket-Size 6 (Less than 2 ounces)
Hook Size H
2 1-1/4" buttons
Yarn Needle

Stitches: ch, sc, sl st.

Difficulty: DIFFICULT

TOE (Make 2)

R1: Ch4, sc in 2nd ch from the hook. Sc in ea rem ch. (3sc)

Rs2-3: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st. Fasten off leaving a 10" length for sewing.

SOLE (Make 2)

R1: Ch8, sc in 2nd ch from the hook. Sc in ea rem ch. (7sc)

Rs2-3: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st. (7sc)

Sides:

R4: Ch1, do not turn.
Sc in ea st and in ea row end, placing 2sc in ea corner.
Join with a sl st in the first sc.

R5: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st.

Fasten off.

SEW TOE SECTION TO SOLE

Hold Toe section with yarn tail on the right on either end of Sole. Sew cor sts tog to join the toe to the sole.

BOOT CUFF (Make 2)

R1: Ch6, sc in the hump of ea ch. (5sc)

Rs2-17: Ch1, turn. Sc in the BLO of ea st. (5sc)

R18: Ch1, turn. Sc in the first st. Ch3, sk the next 3sts. Sc in the last st.

R19: Ch1, turn. Sc in the first st. 3sc in the ch-3 sp. Sc in the last st.

FINISHING

Hold the Boot Cuff with the row ends along the top edge of the Sole, positioning them so the button hole will be on the inside. Sew the cor sts tog, leaving the last 3 rows of the Boot Cuff with the buttonhole not sewn. Sew the button the opposite side of the Boot Cuff using the same yarn and the yarn needle.

Note: If Boot Cuff is too loose, move button over so it fits more snug.
