Crochet Baby Work Boots

Hook Size by Bootie Size
- Newborn (3 mm hook): 3” (8cm)
- 0–3 months (E / 3.5 mm hook): 3.5″ (9cm)
- 3–6 months (G / 4 mm hook): 4″ (10cm)
- 6-9 months (G / 4 mm hook): 4.5″ (11cm)
- 9-12 months (Size 7 / 4.5 mm hook): 4.75″ (12cm)
Abbreviations:
- ch – chain
- sl st- slip stitch
- sc – single crochet

Pattern Instructions (Newborn, 0-3 Months, 3-6 Months)
Sole (Worked in Rounds):
Ch 11 with tan yarn
Round 1: in the 4th loop from hook, make 6 dc sts, dc in the next 6 sts. In the last st make 8 dc sts, turn, dc in the next 6 sts, dc in last st, join with a sl st to the first top ch st.
Round 2: ch 3, dc in same st, work a dc inc in each of the next 6 sts, dc in the next 6 sts, work dc inc in the next 8 sts, dc in the next 6 sts, dc inc in the last st. Join with a sl st.
Round 3: ch 1, working in the BLO, make a sc st in each st around. Join with a sl st.
Body (Worked in Rounds):
Round 4: *change to yellow* ch 2, working in the BLO, hdc in each st around. Join with a sl st.
Round 5: ch 2, hdc in each st around. Join with a sl st.
Round 6: ch 1, sc in each of the next 20 sts, work 8 dc2tog in the next sts, sc in the last 7 sts. Join with a sl st.
Round 7: ch 1, sc in each of the next 20 sts, work 4 dc2tog in the next sts, sc in the last 7 sts. Join with a sl st.
Round 8: ch 1, 1, sc in each of the next 20 sts, work 2 hdc2tog in the next sts, then sc in the remaining sts. Join with a sl st.
Round 9: turn, sl st in the BLO of the next 5 sts, ch 2, turn, hdc in the next 25 sts, work the first and last hdc sts in the FLO.
Round 10-14: ch 2, turn, hdc in each st around.
Finish off and weave in the ends.
Boot Tong (Worked in Rows):
Row 1: *using yellow yarn* join yarn in the back loop, behind the edge of the shoe, where you worked in the front loop only. ch 2, hdc in the same st and in the next 5 sts, and in the BLO of the last st. (7 sts)
Row 2-5: ch 2, hdc in each st across, turn.
Finish off the yarn and wave in the ends.
Cuff (Worked in Rows):
Row 1: *using brown yarn* join to one side of the boot, working in the FLO, ch 6 sts, hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook, and in the next 3 sts. Join to the boot with a sl st, sl st in the next st, turn.
Row 2: hdc working in the BLO in each st across, ch 2, turn.
Row 3: hdc in the BLO in each st across the row. Join to the boot with a sl st, sl st in the next st. Turn.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you have worked your way all the way around the top of the boot. Finish off and weave in the ends of the yarn.
Make the Shoe String (Make 2)
To make the shoestring, you will simply create a tight chain in your desired length. Then finish off the chain, and weave it through the front of the boot as desired.

Round 4: *change to yellow* ch 2, working in the BLO, hdc in each st around. Join with a sl st.
Round 5: ch 2, hdc in each st around. Join with a sl st.
Round 6: ch 1, sc in each of the next 22 sts, work 8 dc2tog in the next sts, sc in the remaining sts. Join with a sl st.
Round 7: ch 1, sc in each of the next 22 sts, work 4 dc2tog in the next sts, sc in the remaining sts. Join with a sl st.

Round 9: turn, sl st in the BLO of the next 7 sts, ch 2, turn, hdc in the next 27 sts, work the first and last hdc sts in the FLO.
Round 10-14: ch 2, turn, hdc in each st around.
Finish off and weave in the ends.
Boot Tong (Worked in Rows):
Row 1: *using yellow yarn* join yarn in the back loop, behind the edge of the shoe, where you worked in the front loop only. ch 2, hdc in the same st and in the next 5 sts, and in the BLO of the last st. (7 sts)
