Directions:
Rnd 1: With Size I hook (5.50mm) and Color A yarn Ch4 leaving a 6" tail (to weave in laters), join with slst to first chain made to form ring, ch1, 6 hdc in ring crocheting over tail, join with slst to first hdc. (6hdc)
tail taut.

Rnd 3: Ch1, 2 hdc in same st as joining, 2 hdc in each of the next 11 sts, join with slst to first hdc. (24hdc)
Rnd 4: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, 2 hdc in next st, [1 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st] do this 11 times, join with slst to first hdc. (36hdc)
Rnd 5: Ch1, 1 hdc in same st as joining, 1 hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, [1 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st] do this 10 times, 1 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in same st color changing to color B (CB) Do not fasten off Color A (CA), join with slst to first hdc. (48hdc)
Note: You will be color changing on and off; switching back and forth between color while they're still connected, dropping unused color for a round, then picking it back up when color is back in use. Carrying it upward.
How I Carry Yarn up thru hat:
Holding unused/dropped yarn (CA) behind st your going into next (or indicated) insert hook in st so hook is underneath strand of unused/dropped yarn, yarnover with current yarn (yarn in use, CB), pull up loop with current yarn(CB), pull thru loop on hook, yarn over with with current yarn your using and ch1 working over strand of dropped yarn (CA), pull/put dropped yarn off to side of work away from direction your crocheting in, with current yarn (CB) work Rnd or st in same st as joining like you normally would. Continue on adjusting to color changes. Repeat this when joing to help tack down/ hide the strands of yarn when carrying the yarn up on the wrongside/inside of hat. I like doing this because its alot less cutting and joing yarn, and less ends to weave in.
Rnd 6: With Color B (CB) Ch1, 1 hdc in same st as joining, 1 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, [ 1 hdc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st] do this 10 times, 1 hdc in each of the next 3 sts, 1 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in same st color changing to CA, Do not fasten off CB, join with slst to first hdc.
