Crochet Round Doily Placemat

The Crochet Round Doily Placemat is a beautiful and functional addition to any dining table. Size:The doily measures approximately 31 cm (12,2 inches)in diameter.

Materials Used:

  • Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 — fine. I used Alize Bahar mercerised 100% cotton yarn in color 368 (camel).

45 grams (117 metres approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.

  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

dc4(5)tog — 4 or 5 double crochet closed together

dc4tog – 4 double crochet closed together — (yarn over, insert the hook into indicated ch space, yarn over and draw up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook)* repeat 4 times. Now you have 5 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 5 loops.

dc5tog – 5 double crochet closed together — (yarn over, insert the hook into indicated ch space, yarn over and draw up a loop. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops on hook)* repeat 5 times. Now you have 6 loops on hook. Yarn over and pull through all 6 loops.

Instructions:

Start with ch5, join with a sl st. into first ch to form a ring. Or, you can make a magic (adjustable) ring.

Round 1: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 15dc into ring.

Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.
