GAUGE — 10dc & 7 rows of Pattern measures approx 2” square


With Main color yarn and 6.00mm hook, ch62, change to 5.50mm hook, work 1sc in 2nd

ch from hook, 1sc in each ch to end. Turn. (61sc)

Row 2 — # ch3, 1dc in each sc to end. Turn. (60dc + ch3)

Row 3 — ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, 1sc in top of ch3. Turn. Fasten off.

Row 4 — Join in contrast color 1, sl st in first sc, * 1dc in next sc, sl st in next sc, * rpt from

* to * to end. Fasten off.

Row 5 — Re-join main color yarn, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc and sl st to end. Turn.

Rpt Rows 2 and 3. Fasten off.

Row 8 — Join in contrast color 2, sl st in first sc, * 1dc in next sc, sl st in next sc, * rpt from

* to * to end. Fasten off.

Row 9 — Re-join in main color yarn, ch1, 1sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc and sl st to end. Turn.

Rpt Rows from # to # until 27 contrast color rows have been worked in all.

Work Rows 2, 3, 2 turning at the end of each row. Turn. Place a color marker each end of row.

Flap

Working in back loop of stitch only work Row 3. Working through both loops of stitch from now on work Rows 2 and 3 twice each, work Row 2. Turn.

Edge — ch1, 2sc in base of ch1, 1sc in each dc to end, 3sc in top of ch3, working down

first side of cushion cover and working in row ends, work 148sc evenly along to corner,

3sc in corner, working along cast on edge, work 1sc in each ch to corner, 3sc in corner,

again working in row ends up second side of cushion cover, work 148sc evenly along to corner, 1sc in corner, sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

With RS facing, fold bottom up to color markers, (now working on WS of work) with 5.50mm hook rejoin main color yarn to a color marker, close side of cushion cover by sl st the centre loops from the back and front sc's together down to fold. Fasten off. Rpt the same for second side.

Finishing — Sew in and tie off any loose ends of yarn, turn through to RS, sew on color buttons evenly to main part, use gaps in dc's on flap as buttonholes.
