Materials:

  • Crochet hook
  • Yarn in the main color for the case (e.g., brown for the bear)
  • Yarn in contrasting colors for the snout, eyes, and any additional features (e.g., black and white)
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Safety eyes or buttons for bear eyes (optional)

Pattern

Starting the Base:

Begin with a slip knot.

Insert your hook into the knot and pull the yarn.

Make four chains for the starting row.

Creating a Circle:

Make a slip stitch into the first chain to form a ring.

Starting the Bear's Head:

Chain two (this does not count as a double crochet).

Work 12 double crochets into the center of the ring.

To make a double crochet:

Yarn over.

Insert the hook into the center of the ring.

Yarn over again and pull through the ring.

Yarn over and pull through the first two loops on the hook.

Yarn over again and pull through the last two loops.

After completing the 12 double crochets, pull the beginning yarn to close the center circle a little.

Conclude the row by making a slip stitch into the second chain of the beginning two chains.

Expanding the Circle:

Start with two chains.

Make two double crochets into each stitch around the circle.

Finish with a slip stitch into the second chain of the starting two chains.

Creating Ear Flaps:

Begin with five double crochets into the first stitch.

Work one single crochet into the same stitch.

Make one slip stitch into the next five stitches.

In the seventh stitch, make one single crochet and then five double crochets into the same stitch.

Continue with one slip stitch in each stitch to the end of the row.

Conclude the row with a slip stitch into the next stitch.

Cut the yarn, leaving enough length for sewing later.

Making the Snout:

Start with a magic ring.

Chain one and make 12 single crochets into the ring.

Close the round with a slip stitch into the first single crochet.

For row two, make one slip stitch into each stitch around.

Cut the yarn, leaving enough to sew the snout onto the bear head.

Sewing the Snout and Features:

Sew the black nose and mouth onto the snout using black yarn and a yarn needle, creating the desired shape.

Sew the snout onto the middle of the bear head.

Attaching Eyes:

Position and attach the eyes on the bear's head using white yarn.

Finishing the Head and Beginning the Phone Case:

After attaching the bear's head features, start crocheting the phone case to fit the phone's length.

Assembling:

Once the desired length is reached, sew the sides of the phone case together, making sure to have the bear face outward.

Finish by crocheting a single crochet border around the open top of the case for a neat finish.
