Crochet Hook: Size I-9 (5.50 mm)
To Change Colors
Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color, yo and pull new color through remaining lps on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
DISHCLOTH
Rnd 1: (Right Side) With Light, ch 4, dc in 4th ch from hook (skipped ch counts as first dc), ch 1, 2 dc in same ch, change to Dark, [ch 1, 2 dc in same ch] twice, change to Medium, [ch 1, 2 dc in same ch] twice; ch 1; join with sl st to first dc. Rnd 2: With right side facing, at end of Light section, draw Light through ch-1 sp at corner, ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), dc in same sp, change to Dark, * ch 1, 2 dc in same ch-1 sp, [ch 1, 2 dc] twice in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, 2 dc in next ch-1 sp *, change to Medium; with Medium, rep * to * once, change to Light, ch 1, 2 dc in same ch-1 sp, [ch 1, 2 dc] twice in next ch-1 sp, ch 1; join. Finish off Light and Medium (NOT DARK) and weave in ends.
Rnds 3-6: Skip to end of next color section, draw yarn through ch-1 corner sp, ch 3, dc in same sp, change to next color, * ch 1, 2 dc in same sp, [ch 1, 2 dc] in each ch-1 sp to next corner, [ch 1, 2 dc] twice in corner ch-1 sp, [ch 1, 2 dc] in each ch-1 sp to next corner **, ch 1, dc in next corner sp, change to next color, with next color, rep from * once more, with last color rep from * to **, ch 1, join. Finish off yarns at end of 2nd and 3rd colors sections and weave in ends.
At the end of Rnd 5, finish off all colors and weave in ends. (72 dc and 36 ch-1 sps)
Border
Rnd 1: With right side facing, join Burgundy with sc to any ch-1, [ch 3, skip next st, sc in next st] around; ch 3; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
