Supplies:
Bulky weight yarn
Size J Crochet hook
Scissors
Skills Needed:
Double Crochet (DC)
Front and Back Post Double Crochet (FPDC and BPDC)
Directions:
Chain 48, join to form a loop
Round 1: DC in each chain, join to the top of the first DC with a slip stitch (48 DC)
Note: you can skip the first two steps and do 48 Foundation Double Crochet if you prefer
Rounds 2-6: Chain 2, FPDC in first stitch, BPDC in next stitch. Continue alternating FPDC and BPDC around. Join to top of 1st stitch with a slip stitch.
Rounds 7-11- Chain 2, DC in each stitch around, join to the top of the first DC with a slip stitch
Round 12- Chain 2, * DC in first stitch and next, Decrease DC in next 2, repeat from * around, join to the top of the first DC with a slip stitch (36 DC)
Round 13- Chain 2, * DC in first stitch, Decrease DC in next 2, repeat from * around, join to the top of the first DC with a slip stitch (24 DC)
Round 14- Chain 2, *Decrease DC in first 2, repeat from * around, join to the top of the first DC with a slip stitch (12 DC)
Round 15-Chain 2, *Decrease DC in first 2, repeat from * around, join to the top of the first DC with a slip stitch (6 DC)
Cut yarn, but be careful not to unravel any stitches
Weave yarn through the 6 stitches of the final round and the starting loop. Pull the circle closed, finish off and weave in all ends.
