Materials:
- 4.5 mm crochet hook
- 328 yards of fine/#2 weight yarn (I used 2 balls of Seashell from Hobbii in the “11” colorway)
- Yarn/tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Measuring Tape
Sizing:
- 10 inches wide
- 32 inch circumference
Pattern Notes:
- For a larger circumference, simply work more rows of the pattern before seaming.
- Easily change the cowl width by adjusting the multiple of the starting chain (see below for multiple)
Fair Weather Crochet Cowl Pattern:
- Ch 49 (multiple is 3+1)
- Row one: In the second ch from the hook, work a sc. *Ch 2, skip 2 ch, single crochet into next ch, then repeat from * to end of row until just two chains are left. Then, work a single crochet into the last chain.
- Row two: Ch 3 and turn. *Work 3 dc into the chain 2 space from the previous row. Repeat from * in each chain 2 space across. Then work 1 double crochet into the last stitch of the row.
- Row three: Ch 1 and turn. In the very first stitch, work a sc, then work a sc into the very first space of the row. *Ch 2 and work a sc in the space in between the groups of 3 dc from previous row. At the end of the row, chain two once again, then work 2 sc in the turning chain space.
- Repeat rows 2 and 3 until scarf is desired length (I made mine about 32 inches long).
Finishing & Assembly:
- Slip stitch seam across to join the ends, fasten off.
- Weave in any ends and your cowl is ready to wear!
