Materials:
– 81 yards super bulky yarn, shown: Hometown USA, or 81 yards of any super bulky yarn
– Size N (9.00m) crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge
Gauge:
While not critical for wear, you want to be at gauge to allow the use of only one ball of the Hometown USA.
4 dc on Row 1 = 2” wide
Row 1= 1 ½” tall
Finished Dimensions:
6” tall x 31” total length (measures 15.5” folded flat in half)
Special Stitches:
V-Stitch: (dc, ch 2, dc) in indicated stitch
Note* The blue/gray sample, used gray for the whole pattern, except Rows 2 & 3.
Instructions: Do not turn rounds.
To Begin: Ch 54, sl st to first chain made to form a ring. (Take care to not twist your chain)
Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here and throughout), dc in each remaining chain around, sl st to top of beg ch-3. (54 dc)
Round 2: Ch 5 (counts as 1st dc, ch 2), dc in same stitch as join, *sk next 2 dc, V stitch in nxt dc, repeat from * around, sl st to 3rd chain in beg ch-5. (18 V-stitches)
Round 3: Sl st to 1st ch-2 space of previous round, ch 3, make 2 dc in the same ch-2 space, *sk nxt 2 dc and make 3 dc in next ch-2 sp, repeat from around, sk last 2 dc and sl st to top of beg ch-3. (54 dc)
Round 4: Sl st to 2nd (middle dc) of the 1st 3dc group, ch 5 (counts as 1st dc, ch 2), dc in same dc, *sk next 2 dc, V-stitch in nxt dc, repeat from * around, sk last 2 dc, sl st to 3rd chain of beg ch-5. (18 V-stitches)
Round 5: Repeat round 3.
Round 6: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, sl st to top of beg ch-3, tie off. (54 dc)
Finishing:
Weave in all ends.
