Materials
Caron Wintuk worsted weight yarn in two colors (A= main color, B=contrast color)
Crochet hook size G, or size needed to achieve gauge
Gauge: Rounds 1-4= 3 1/4” across widest point
Finished size: 6” or 7”
With color B, ch 4; join with a sl st to the 1st ch to form ring.
Round 1: Work 8 sc in the ring; join with a sl st to the first sc. Fasten off
color B.
Round 2: Join color A with a sc in any sc, ch 5, sc in the same st, ch 1, skip
next sc, *(sc, ch 5, sc) in the next sc, ch 1, skip next sc* Repeat from * to *
2 times; join with a sl t to the first sc.
Round 3: Sl st into the first ch 5 sp, ch 3 to count as the first dc, work 4
more dc in the same sp, ch 3, (5 dc in the next ch 5 sp, ch 3) 3 times; join
with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3. Fasten off color A.
Round 4: Join color B with a sl st to the first dc of any 5 dc group, ch 3 to
count as the first dc, dc in the next dc, 3 dc in the next dc, dc in each of the
next 2 dc, working in front of the next ch 3, long dc in the next ch 1 sp on
round 2, (dc in each of the next 2 dc, 3 dc in the next dc, dc in each of the
next 2 dc, working in front of the next ch 3, long dc in the next ch 1 sp on
round 2) 3 times; join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3. Fasten
off color B.
Round 5: Join color A with a sl st in any skipped ch 3 sp on round 3, ch 3 to
count as the first dc, work 4 more dc in the same sp, skip long dc, skip next

Round 11: With color B, sc in each st around, working 3 sc in the center st
