What you need:
3 colors of worsted weight yarn
Size N (10mm) hook
Scissors,
Yarn Needle
Cowl:
Pull out ends of each color and knot them together. Holding all the strands together as if they were one, chain 21. Skip two stitches and double crochet back across chain. *Turn, chain 3 (this counts a dc here and through out the cowl) double crochet to end of row. Repeat from * till your piece is 22 inches long, for me it was 25 rows.
Break yarn leaving a long tail to sew up cowl. Place the two ends together with right side facing inward. Whip stitch ends together.
Tie securely. Weave in ends. *Cut a long piece of yarn and sew a running stitch up the back of the cowl slightly to the side of the seam. At top reverse direction and sew the running stitch back down to the bottom where you started. Carefully pull yarn to gather. Tie off yarn and weave in ends.
Repeat the gather at front and on each side for a total of four gathers.
Slip on and enjoy.
