General notes concerning this pattern

For this project, we will begin by crocheting the main part of the project in the rounds (with the 4,5 mm crochet hook). Once this part is completed, two bear ears will be crocheted.

Then the white nose of the bear will be crocheted with Drops Muskat yarn and 4 mm crochet hook.

The tray will then be assembled. Firstly, the ears will be sewed onto the top of the project; the white nose will also be sewed. The three buttons are then sewed the buttons with the darning thread and needle.

Fasten off.

Sew in the loose end from the beginning, making sure the first round is secure and doesn’t unravel.

Crochet bear ear (make 2)

Ch 3, sl st to first ch 3 to form a ring.

Row 1: Ch3 (=DC), place 11 DC into the ring (=12 DC total).

Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew ear onto project.

Pull on the loose end of initial ch 3 to close off ring. Snip off your loose end from initial chain 3 before stitching on the ears.

Crochet white nose

With Drops Muskat yarn and 4 mm hook.

Ch 3, sl st to first ch 3 to form a ring.

Ch 3 (=DC), place 15 DC into the center ring; slip stitch to first chain 3 to close off round (make sure you fasten in your loose end as you crochet).

Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew onto project.

Pull gently on the loose end from the beginning to close the centre.

Sew all the different elements together

Place your project on a flat surface.

With tapestry needle, start sewing your ears onto the top of the project. Place these symmetrically.

Simply sew both ears onto the project with the tapestry needle, using the mattress stitch.

Once you have finished securing both ears, fasten off and tidy up all loose ends.

Now place your white nose as seen in photo below, measuring 1,5” from the very bottom of the project. Once you have sewed the nose on, fasten off all loose ends.

Sew the three buttons onto the project to create eyes and nose tip

For this part you will be using darning thread and needle.

Sew the first button on top of the white nose, making sure it is centered. Sew button on with darning thread and needle.

Now measuring 1,5 from the top of the project, and 2” from the side, sew on first button (=eye), with darning needle and thread.

Repeat process for the second eye on the other side.
