Materials Needed
- Hook size: 2.75MM
- Thread: Cotton mercerized thread 3ply, your desired color (stash)
How To Crochet Headband Instructions
Foundation chain 72
Upper side of Headband
Row 1: Sc in 2nd chain from hook, ch 5, skip 5ch, (sc in next ch, ch3, skip 1ch, sc in next ch, ch 5, skip 5ch) 8 times, end with sc in last ch.
Row 2: Ch1, turn, sc in the same st, ch5, skip 5ch (sc, ch3, sc, ch3, sc, ch3, sc in next 3ch space, ch5, skip 5ch sp) 8 times, end with sc n last sc.
Row 3: Ch1, turn, sc in the same st, ch5, skip 5ch sp, (skip 1st 3ch sp, sc, ch3, sc in 2nd 3ch sp, skip 3rd 3ch sp, ch5, skip 5ch sp) 8 times, end with sc in last sc.
Row 4: Repeat row 2. Cut off.
Lower Side of Headband
Turn the project 180°. Attach the thread on right side. Consider the foundation chain as your Row 1.
Row 2: Ch1, sc in the same st, ch5, skip 5ch,(sc,ch3,sc,ch3,sc,ch3,sc in next 1ch space, ch5, skip 5ch sp) 8 times, end with sc n last sc.
Row 3: Ch1, turn, sc in the same st, ch5, skip 5ch sp, (skip 1st 3ch sp, sc, ch3, sc in 2nd 3ch sp, skip 3rd 3ch sp, ch5, skip 5ch sp) 8 times, end with sc in last sc.
Row 4: Repeat row 2. Do not cut the thread. You are now working on the side.
Left Side & Right Side: 1st side will be the Left side, the continuation of last row of lower headband. On the Right side, you will attached the thread on the last sc of row 4 of Upper headband.
Row 1: Ch1, turn 90°, sc in the same st, sc in next 6sc.
Row 2: Ch3, turn, dc in each sc across. (7 dc)
Row 3: Ch2, turn, dc in next dc(1st 2dc tog), dc in next 3dc, 2dc tog in next 2 sts. (2- 2dc tog, 3dc)
Row 4: Ch3, turn, 3 dc tog in next 3 sts, dc in last st.
Row 5-24: Ch3, turn, dc in next 2 sts.
Row 25: Turn, sc, ch3, sc, ch3, sc, ch3, sc in next st, sl st in last st.
Fasten Off, weave in ends.
