JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
Dishcloth
Row 1: (Right Side) Ch 27, sc in 2nd ch from hook, (sc in next ch) across. (26 sc)
Row 2: Ch 3, turn, skip next sc, dc in next 2 sc, dc in skipped sc, * skip next sc, dc in next 2 sc, dc in skipped sc; rep from * across to last sc, dc in last sc.

Rows 5-19: Rep Rows 2-4 five times.
Rows 20-21: Rep Rows 2-3 once. DO NOT FINISH OFF.
Edging
Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn, 3 sc in first sc, (sc in next sc) across to last sc, 3 sc in last sc (corner), * working in sides of rows, work sc in sc rows and 2 sc in dc rows *; working in unused lps of starting ch, 3 sc in first ch, (sc in next ch) across to last ch, 3 sc in last ch; rep from * to *; join with sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Sl st to corner sc, (ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook (picot), sc in next 3 sc) around; join. Finish off and weave in ends.
