MATERIALS:
Caron Simply Soft ( Less than 3 ounces )Size H Hook
Stitches: ch, sc, sc2tog, sl st.
Gauge: 8sc & 10 rows of sc = 2"
NECK BAND
R1: Ch60, sc in the hump of the second ch from the hook (mark this stitch).
Sc in the hump of ea rem ch across to the last ch.
Work 5sc in the last ch.
Working in the unworked lps of the foundation chain, sc in ea unworked lp of ea ch across to the last ch. Place 4sc in the last ch for a total of 5sc on that end. Join with a sl st in first sc (marked st).
R2: Ch1, turn. 2sc in ea of the 5sts on the end. Sc in ea st across to the 5sts on the other end.
2sc in ea of those 5sts. (Sc in next st. 2sc in next st) across to last st. Sc in last st. Join with a sl st in the first sc.
Fasten off. (right side)
MARK NECK BAND
Count 25 sts back from where you fastened off and mark that st.
Fold neck band in half and mark the cor st on the opposite side.
MAIN BIB PANEL
R1: With right side facing and markers along the top edge. Join same yarn with a sc in the first marked st. Sc in ea st across to and including the marked st on the opposite side.
R2: Ch1, turn.
Sc2tog. Sc across to the last 2sts. Sc2tog.
R3: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st.
R4: Rep R2.
R5: Rep R3.
Rs6-8: Rep R2.
Rs9-25: Rep R3.
Rs 26-29: Rep R2.
R30: Rep R3.
EDGING
Ch1, turn. Working into ea st and row end, sc loosely around the edge up to the top of the neck band. Work 5chs in bet the two sc sts at the end of the neck band. (the 5chs form a loop on that side of the neck band)
Sc loosely in ea rem st around the rest of the bib. Join with a sl st in the first sc.
NOTE:
This bib is fastened by pulling the side of the neck band without the loop through the loop on the opposite side.
