Materials: About 1 ½ ounces worsted weight cotton yarn

Crochet hook size G (4 mm)

Ch 14

Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook, (dc in the next ch, sc in the next ch) 6 times; ch 2, turn. (13 sts) Pattern note: The ch 2 at the end of some rows does not count as the first st of the next row.

Row 2: (Hdc, dc) in the first sc, (sc in the next dc, dc in the next sc) across to within last 2 sts, sc in the next dc, (dc, hdc) in the last sc; ch 2, turn. (15 sts)

Rows 3-9: (Hdc, dc) in the first hdc, (sc in the next dc, dc in the next sc) across to within last 2 sts, sc in the next dc, (dc, hdc) in the last hdc; ch 2, turn. (29 sts at the end of row 9)

Row 10: Hdc in the first hdc, (sc in the next dc, dc in the next sc) across to within last 2 sts, sc in the next dc, hdc in the last hdc; ch 2, turn. (29 sts)

Row 11: Hdc in the first hdc, (dc in the next sc, sc in the next dc) across to within last 2 sts, dc in the next sc, hdc in the last hdc; ch 2, turn. (29 sts)

Rows 12-15: (Repeat rows 10-11) 2 times. (29 sts)

Split for neck opening

Row 16: Skip first hdc, hdc in the next dc, (dc in the next sc, sc in the next dc) 4 times; ch 1, turn. (9 sts)

Row 17: Skip first sc, (sc in the next dc, dc in the next sc) 3 times, hdc dec over the last 2 sts; ch 2, turn. (7 sts)

Row 18: Skip first hdc dec, hdc in the next dc, (dc in the next sc, sc in the next dc) 2 times, sc in the next dc, hdc in the next sc; ch 2, turn. (6 sts)

Row 19: Hdc in the first hdc, dc in the next sc, sc in the next dc, dc in the next sc, hdc dec over the last 2 sts; ch 2, turn. (5 sts)

Row 20: Skip first hdc dec, hdc in the next dc, dc in the next sc, sc in the next dc, (dc, hdc) in the next hdc; ch 2, turn.

Row 21: Hdc in the first hdc, sc in the next dc, dc in the next sc, hdc dec over the last 2 sts. (4 sts) Fasten off.

Other side

Row 16: Skip the next 9 sts on row 15, attach yarn with a sc in the next st, (dc in the next sc, sc in the next dc) 3 times, dc in the next sc, hdc dec over the last 2 sts; ch 2, turn. (9 sts)

Row 17: Skip first hdc, hdc in the next dc, (dc in the next sc, sc in the next dc) 2 times, dc in the next sc, sc dec over the last 2 sts; ch 2, turn. (7 sts)

Row 18: Hdc in the first st, (sc in the next dc, dc in the next sc) 2 times, hdc dec over the last 2 sts; ch 2, turn. (6 sts)

Row 19: Skip first hdc dec, hdc in the next dc, dc in the next sc, sc in the next dc, dc in the next sc, hdc in the next hdc; ch 2, turn. (5 sts)

Row 20: (Hdc, dc) in the first hdc, sc in the next dc, dc in the next sc, hdc dec over the last 2 sts; ch 2, turn. (5 sts)

Row 21: Skip first hdc dec, hdc in the next dc, dc in the next sc, sc in the next dc, hdc in the next hdc. (4 sts)

Finishing

Ch 50 for the first tie, work a sc in the sides of each of the six rows of the neck opening, sc in each of the 9 skipped sts on row 15, sc in the sides of each of the six rows of the other side of the neck opening, ch 51 for the second tie; do not fasten off; sl st in the 2nd ch from hook and in each of the remaining 49 ch's, sc evenly around the outside of the bib, sl st in each of the 50 ch's of the first tie. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
